SINNERS - A Musically bound Horror/Action, well-made Masala movie

ONE LINE:

Twin brothers were all set to open a juke joint for the local black community. So, they brought their cousin Sammie, a musician, and some friends to handle other stuff. On the opening night, a group of unwanted guests (Vampires) came by, and chaos occurred.

Michael B Jordan, who played dual roles as Stack and Smoke, even though it was identical twins, made it look like different people. The whole cast looks promising and has done their job perfectly. They bought a sawmill from a racist owner and prepared it to start their Juke Joint, a pub for local black people. The whole first half of the film shows how they organized people for the required purposes. Cousin Sammie, a guitarist who plays blues music, which is supernatural, a Chinese couple for food supply, one for gate guarding, and Stacks' ex-wife.

From the opening scene itself, it is haunted by Sammie's blood-covered body and his broken guitar. Though they took more time to get into the conflict, it was good that they showed the landscape beautifully with some politics of racial discrimination, and plantation workers suffering. Everything fell into place and is doing good. An Irish immigrant vampire escaped from vampire hunters and sheltered in a couple's home, also turning them into vampires. At night, they all got to the gate of the juke joint by hearing Sammie's mesmerizing music. As they were denied entry, they tried different possibilities to get into there at any cost, things became violent, people fought, people died, and struggled to keep their loved ones safe.

All the emotions worked very well, not only the main characters, but all got their space to express their emotion. No character is left unnoticed or left behind in the middle. The screenplay is too good to engage the audience, and the technical aspects were fine on all sides. The cinematography is good and dark, precise editing, and music completes the soul of the film. Both the twins' partners have an important role, and it all worked very well.

Some small episodes were too good to see. The vampires are asking for invitations from the people inside the juke joint for the front door entry, and their refusal scenes. The scene where the stack's ex-wife becomes a vampire. At the climax, Smoke sends Sammie home safely and starts fighting with the racial landowners of the sawmill, and the gun action choreography was done well. After the climax, there was a post-credit scene, don't miss it. Overall, this movie will give you a wonderful watching experience. So, give it a try.
